About Forestier

Forestier is now a well-known lighting designer, their designs are bold and use unconventional materials that other designers rarely or never use. The simple overall contours are contrasted with the use of complex geometry and unique lines and designs combined with captivating textures and light diffusing methods.

Forestier is driven by passion. They are dedicated to the quality of their designs, the impact they have on people and culture, and creating lighting that evokes emotions. Their passion is what drives the success of the Forestier brand.

Forestier is innovative and independent, using raw materials to create one-of-a-kind designs. They empower their designers to express themselves freely and without constraints.

Forestier is a brand of explorers, driven by a spirit of curiosity and a desire to push boundaries. They cultivate a pioneering spirit, embrace singularity, and inspire discovery through their creations. The openness and boldness of Forestier are evident in every piece they create.

One of Forestier's most popular designs is the Bamboo collection: this wast collection of pendant, ceiling, floor, and wall lamps is a poetic encounter between nature and design. A bias of natural and authentic materials sublimated by handmade craftsmanship and creative inspiration. Forestier's Bamboo is designed, contemporary with a soul that is deeply close to true nature. Its filtered light will generate a delicate, warm and soft look both inside and out.

Another classic is the Papillon collection - it is characterized by the lightness of the butterfly. The metal threads of each Papillon lamp frame are duplicated then twisted to obtain this graphic and kinetic effect reminding the wings of a butterfly.

Grass and Parrot are the new collections that have been taking the design industry by storm. Using traditional weaving and folding methods, the coloured abaca combines geometric weaving and circular shapes. With this choice to use one of the oldest craft techniques, rooted in the earth, the designer Jette Scheib pushes her creative process to the extreme, with the aim of which is not another object, but the interaction between the object and the person, a source of well-being.

The story starts with Bernard Forestier, a man driven by his passion for French gardens and the artistic topiary sculptures that defined them. He was enamored with their perfect proportions, balance, and elegant combinations of straight lines and curves. Determined to revolutionize the world of lighting design, Bernard sought to bring the beauty of botany into homes. He took a chance on woven wire, which soon became a signature material for the brand. He had a fondness for woven metal, whether it was rusted iron, zinc or iron, and brought poetry and humor to his designs, giving life to his creations.

After Bernard Forestier's departure, the company shifted its direction a decade after its founding. Upon Hélène Forestier's request, Gilles Dallière assumed artistic control and emphasized his aim to make each piece one-of-a-kind. This change marked a significant milestone for the company, which now prioritizes luxury and a simple, natural aesthetic in its designs. Forms are refined by showcasing light and color, while maintaining the hallmark of handcrafted uniqueness.
