Grupa
Grupa design studio was established in 2006 by the brand's three designers - Filip Despot, Ivana Pavić, and Tihana Taraba. Over time, Grupa evolved into a design brand recognized for its work in product and interior design, partnering with manufacturers and architects from both Croatia and abroad. Their versatility and minimalistic approach earned them praise.
In 2012, Grupa achieved a significant milestone by venturing into manufacturing and introducing their own line of lighting products that incorporate their design philosophy, heritage, and traditional handmade techniques refined by local craftsmen. This move marked a departure from their conventional design role. Ever since then the company has focussed on creating innovative lighting products that are created locally in Croatia.
In a world dominated by automation and mass production, Grupa opted for the handmade approach to ensure unparalleled quality in their final product. Skilled craftsmen meticulously handle each piece, bending, painting, assembling, and rigorously checking for quality. Craftsmanship is thus an integral aspect of the product, evident in its tangible and visible features. All Grupa products are produced and assembled in Croatia, mostly in a renowned lighting factory that has been in operation since 1960. With over six decades of experience in the lighting industry, the factory's exceptional workmanship and priceless tradition result in products that have gained worldwide recognition among customers and users.
Despite the fact the brand was only established in 2012, Grupa has already made some of the most recognizable designs in the lighting industry. Without a doubt, the most popular collection from Grupa is the Arigato product range, which is available in a number of configurations - as a pendant lamp, multiple ceiling lamps, floor lamps, wall lights and table lights.
Another classic is the Baluna collection, available in pendant, ceiling light, floor lamp and wall lamp configurations.
