Stephen Burks

Stephen Burks is an influential designer whose multidisciplinary background bridges architecture and product design. He studied architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology and pursued Product Design at IIT’s Institute of Design, also spending time at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture. His design aesthetic has been deeply enriched by his experiences traveling between New York and Europe and living in design hubs like Tokyo and Milan.

Burks launched his independent career at the turn of the millennium, marking a major milestone when Italian design powerhouse Cappellini began producing his first pieces. Known for his ability to integrate diverse cultural influences into his work, Burks brings a unique global perspective, merging architectural rigor with inventive, boundary-crossing design.
