The Annular pendant is a modern interpretation of the classic cone pendant. It pairs two primary forms; a conical shade paired with a perfect ring of light at the perimeter. Annular is a result of rethinking the light. The innovative use of led makes no bulb visible creating a clean expression. The cone is evocative of a classic pendant form while the ring-shaped light source is boldly graphic and resolutely contemporary.

MSDS Studio, a prominent Canadian design studio led by Jessica Nakanishi and Jonathan Sabine, has rapidly earned recognition from top design brands worldwide. Known for their expertise in interior, furniture, and lighting design, this dynamic duo combines modern sensibilities with a respect for craftsmanship, resulting in designs that feel both innovative and enduring. Each piece is thoughtfully balanced in color, form, and spatial presence, resulting in striking yet simple designs. Their partnership with WOUD began with the Annular pendant, a design that captivated audiences at the 2015 Stockholm Furniture Fair. This initial collaboration blossomed, leading to the addition of the Study lamp and Level daybed to our collection—pieces that reflect the remarkable synergy and shared appreciation between MSDS Studio and WOUD.
