Meet the designer
Luc Ramael graduated in 1975 as an interior architect from the “Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Bouwkunst en Stedenbouw” in Antwerp, Belgium. Following specialized studies in furniture design and photography, he worked with various architects and interior designers before establishing his own studio in 1988. Since 1984, he has taught at several architecture schools in Belgium, served as a professor and external examiner, and was a jury member for the prestigious “Interieur 2000” design competition in Kortrijk. Ramael designs intimate furniture and lighting objects characterized by logic, good taste, and practicality, avoiding unnecessary frills, anecdotal humor, or excessive experimentation. His collaborations with lighting and furniture companies in Belgium, Italy, and Spain have earned him several national and international awards in design competitions.
