Bomma and Rückl jointly introduce Metamorphosis, a new collection of crystal lighting by Rony Plesl. This collection combines the talents
of these sister glassmaking brands – the breathtaking art of hand-cut crystal from Rückl, with exceptional technical solutions and the principle of light constellations typical for Bomma.
Rony Plesl, designer of the Metamorphosis collection explains, “The Metamorphosis lighting collection was created in collaboration with the Rückl Glassworks. The shapes, colors, and particularly the hand-cut pattern carry the most iconic features of this brand: precision, sharpness and the geometry of each cut. Combined with light, they create an outstanding experience. Each individual component is a unique stand-alone piece, resembling the fruit of a tree that enhances any composition. BOMMA Constellation by Rückl is a true rarity in the world of lighting.”

Rony Plesl
Rony Plesl is a distinguished Czech artist and sculptor renowned for his innovative contributions to glass art. His profound understanding of glassmaking and passion for the material's transformative nature are evident in his work. Plesl's artistic journey has been marked by a continuous exploration of glass's potential, leading to groundbreaking creations that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. A significant milestone in his career was the 2022 Venice Biennale, where Plesl unveiled "Trees Grow from the Sky," a site-specific installation in the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione. This exhibition marked the global debut of Vitrum Vivum, an innovative full-relief glass casting technology developed over twelve years by Czech glass master Jiří Šín. This technique allows for the creation of large-scale glass sculptures without the limitations previously imposed by traditional methods. Plesl's work is deeply influenced by his admiration for the geometry and intimacy of the Italian Renaissance, as well as the architectural opulence of the Baroque period. His time spent in Venice, particularly on the island of Murano, studying under Italian master glassmakers, has significantly shaped his artistic perspective. Through his innovative approach and dedication to pushing the boundaries of glass art, Rony Plesl continues to make a significant impact on the contemporary art scene, merging historical influences with cutting-edge techniques to create works that are both timeless and avant-garde.
