Meet the designer
After completing his architecture studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Arash Nourinejad initially launched Anour as a simple online portfolio in 2007. In the midst of an economic downturn, Arash faced challenges in finding work and even considered a position with a Danish kitchen brand to make ends meet. However, a fortuitous turn of events would shape the Anour brand’s future: while designing furniture, including a bed, he crafted a pendant light to complement it. This lamp, later known as the iconic I-Model, became the centerpiece of Anour’s collection. As he hung the pendant over the bed, he joked to his wife that the light, rather than the bed, might become a design icon—and it did. Arash's designs draw heavily on his architectural background, emphasizing clean lines and a mastery of light. His approach is defined by a pursuit of simplicity and perfection, seeking to distill each piece to its essential elements and eliminate anything superfluous. This philosophy is evident in Anour’s lighting designs, which embody Danish design’s timeless qualities with a contemporary touch, balancing minimalism with refined functionality.
