El Cubo by Carpyen, reinventing the Table Lamp
Originally designed by Gabriel Teixidó in 1974, El Cubo is a synthesis of its innovative vision and generous approach of improving people’s quality of life.
The established Spanish designer imagined a lamp that allows the modulation of light intensity. On a slim metal profile, several half-spheres come to life with a simple gesture, for defining a softer atmosphere.
Gabriel Teixidó’s 2020 new interpretation lends the classic piece a sophisticated silhouette, in line with the essential design language of today.

Gabriel Teixidó
Gabriel Teixidó, a Spanish designer born in Barcelona in 1947, has had a distinguished career marked by simplicity and function. Educated at the School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, Teixidó began his journey in industrial design in 1970. Known for his minimalist approach, his designs are almost austere, focused on essential forms and free from excessive ornamentation. A specialist in product design, Teixidó’s work spans various sectors, including healthcare facilities, office spaces, and public areas. His creations are versatile and practical, embodying a quiet elegance that blends seamlessly into diverse environments, from hospital halls to corporate offices.
